Welcome to the workshop "Driven By Others: Social Cognition and Stress," an interdisciplinary exploration at the intersection of neuroscience, psychology, computer science, and social sciences.
This one-day workshop brings together leading researchers to examine how social factors influence cognition and stress responses. Through diverse disciplinary lenses—from cellular neurobiology to artificial intelligence, from social psychology to clinical interventions—we will explore fundamental questions about human behavior in social contexts.
Workshop Themes:
Neural and psychological mechanisms of social influence
Obedience to authority and intergenerational trauma
Social representations of health and illness
Impact of substances on social cognition
Social touch and stress
Embodied artificial intelligence and human-machine interaction
Neurobiological foundations of stress responses
Who should attend
Students, researchers, and professionals interested in cognitive science, neuroscience, psychology, social sciences, human-machine interaction, and related fields.
Organising committee
This workshop is organized by second-year students of the Cognitive Sciences Master's program (MaSCo) at Aix-Marseille University. As part of an annual tradition, MaSCo students select a theme, design the scientific program, and invite researchers to foster interdisciplinary dialogue and deepen their understanding of cutting-edge topics in cognitive science.
